smoothness and idle stuff goes - I had no problems. It was just slower in my car.

In other words, it is not the same diameter all the way through like the stock, RS4 or other MAFs people are using for the homebrew kits. Therefore, it cannot be used with a homebrew setup and GIAC K04 S/W, tuned for the stepped MAF, will not work well with a straight through MAF.

That should tell you - I think the PEB stuff is better - again, ONLY if you want to take a tiny amount of time to tweak.
But, as Doc says below, some others have even needed to tweak the "out of the box" stuff.
My car is much faster now that it was.

I just wish AWE would have thrown their pride out the window a long time ago, scrapped the stepped MAF, and designed software for a straight through MAF. There is no doubt in my mind that there would be more people out there using their software if that was the case.
