Default I will say, the flow straightener with stock airbox and newer software worked great as far as.......

smoothness and idle stuff goes - I had no problems. It was just slower in my car.

Default It ulitizes a bigger MAF, but is designed to work with the stock airbox. It is "stepped"

In other words, it is not the same diameter all the way through like the stock, RS4 or other MAFs people are using for the homebrew kits. Therefore, it cannot be used with a homebrew setup and GIAC K04 S/W, tuned for the stepped MAF, will not work well with a straight through MAF.

Default Well I had "done it right" initially because the PEB stuff didn't exist - I have the PEB stuff now..

That should tell you - I think the PEB stuff is better - again, ONLY if you want to take a tiny amount of time to tweak.

But, as Doc says below, some others have even needed to tweak the "out of the box" stuff.

My car is much faster now that it was.

Default Everyone talks about MBC and TCD being a bandaid. Flow straightener sure seems like a bandaid to me.

I just wish AWE would have thrown their pride out the window a long time ago, scrapped the stepped MAF, and designed software for a straight through MAF. There is no doubt in my mind that there would be more people out there using their software if that was the case.

Default Oh yeah, how did I forget. The real reason is because PEB is a bunch of hacks and none of the stuff

works. How silly of me to forget.
