just curious ---> what is AWE's thoughts on using TCDs and/or MBC with GIAC software...

I am not sure what would be different.
A MAF housing would still need to be used. Bigger injectors and the associated hardware would still need to be used. Software would still need to be used.
This sounds like our fueling kit.
What am I not understanding?

something" way.
I look at the MBC/TCD as a way to fix an issue the same as I look at the flow straightener as a way to fix an issue.

People using straight through MAF housings for homebrew kits are having no such drivability issues.
I like the kits you offer other than the actual MAF housing. I always like sourcing my own hardware. AFAIK, you do not allow the sale of the software seperately.

Seems that your approach and our approach are very similar in their goals, but different in their methods.
Your approach uses new MAF and injector components. So does ours.
Your approach uses K03 software and requires soldering in of resistors and installation of a mechanism to override factory systems, along with adjustments of the ECU adaptation channels with the scan tool. Our approach does it all in the software and keeps the factory systems intact.
Same goal, different methods of executing. Our method is much easier for the mass market form we wanted this kit to take.

The "stepped" housing design is not the problem.

Just like Jason said, full kits are the way to go for those that have no interest in tweaking. However, it seems that there are still issues that people are having to tweak out (idle, part throttle) in various ways such as using a different air filter. It seems that the only variable that could possibly causing these drivability issues is the stepped MAF housing. Greentops are another variable, but these issues are non-existant in homebrew kits using these injectors with a few tweaks.

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1872335.phtml">JasonS4's personal experience</a>
The flow straightener with the latest chip file does not have these drivability issues. And we still use a "stepped" housing.
The step being the cause of these issues is a myth with no proof.
