Just drove B8 A4 2.0T Sport Suspension - Noticed BIG Improvement in Clutch Feel
The difference in the lightness of the clutch throw and the travel of the pedal between the B8 and my stock equipped car was insane.
The B8 had much lighter and longer throw but also engaged more quickly.
I've got about 110K on my S4 and I don't think that the clutch has been replaced.
Does anybody know if the clutch pedal travel is in any way related to the age / milage on the clutch in the B5? In other words, if I put a brand new stock B5 S4 clutch in my car, would the pedal effort, throw distance and engagement points seem closer to the B8 experience?
I STFA'd but didn't find this type of information. -Most clutch topics are centered around launching and ceramic vs. kevlar etc....
TIA.

I would think there would be some correlation but I don't know too much about the trans on these cars. A newer clutch should offer quicker engagement. Travel and throw should stay about the same though, assuming the clutch is hydraulically assisted, which it probably is.
