well after changing the oil today, i started teh car and it threw a cel and said SERVICE! do you think it is due to a possible overfill? I am running an oil cooler as well and figured 7 quarts is fine but my friend suggested that i put more to compensate for the oil cooler.
first cel for me on the car so this is a tramatizing experience. any help will be appreciated. thanks.

Add 0.25 qt at a time, until the dipstick reads full. It'll probably take an addt'l qt.
CEL is due to something else. Scan it to see what code it threw.

the idle is also rough since the oil change. im guessing the o2 sensors? and smell of rotting eggs is making me think the cats are busted too.
any input on this?
thanks.

Go to an auto parts store and purchase a generic code reader...that'll get you basic codes from the ECU. It's really not worth speculating, when the code will point you to exactly what needs fixing (usually).
