Default Just installed AMS Snub mount. Comments and mini review.

We just got installing The AMS snub mount on two S4's. My buddy and I decided to take the plunge and get the snub mounts from AMS. Frank was real helpful and got the mounts to us in two days. We used apr's instructions which could use a little bit of work. Here are a couple of addendums that I think should be mentioned which would make install much easier.

1. Apr's step six states to remove inner fender well screw holding bumper. There are actually three screws holding the bumper on each side, not one.

2. Instead of having to battle putting the mount on on the car we found that it was easier to remove the metal mounting point for the snub mount(3 8mm allen bolts) take the mounts to a press and press them in until the groove comes on the shaft. The tricky part is you have to insert one of the allen bolts in its hole before pushing the rubber mount in all the way or else you wont be able to get it in. Then take the entire mount to the car and reinstall it.

The two cars that we did already had uuc ads's installed so the driveline slop was already greatly reduced. However the snub mount definitely makes a noticeable difference even with the ads. The car has absolutely no jerk when shifting. We did both cars in 1 1/2 hours using no power tools so the install went pretty easy considering apr show approximate install time of 2 hours for one vehicle. If anyone is considering this mod I highly recommend it. By the way on the other car the stock mount was torn.

Default Only the bottom bolt on each side needs to come off to remove the bumper. I guess you can remove the

other 4 if you want but not necessary.

Just curious as to why you chose AMS Snub Mount over APR? TIA.

Default For me it was because...

AMS is close so I can just pay them a visit and pick it up in person. That and to try something different. Cheaper solution as well.

Default nope, it's not on the website

we're working on the new website
and should have it up and running
before the end of this month

but in short, it's a red "Poly" front mount and costs $25
