...I've been told that Woodlawn now has a lot of reservations about putting CPP Adjustable Control Arms on cars now. I had a pair previously, but they died within 6 months. I did get a replacement, as they're under warranty and so on, and they were replaced with new ones that have a new dust jacket on them (or something to that effect). They, however, say that these arms are still failing all over the place, and they've got two in the shop right now that failed in under 6 months, even with the new style.
Now, if I could go ahead and simply do without these guys, I'd be able to live with it. However, my previous s4 ate up tires left and right without the control arms due to camber/caster problems. The arms certainly took care of it, but they needed replacing in 6 months, obviously, something I don't feel like doing all the time.
That was with my old s4, which had secondhand springs and struts (H&R and Billstein) which were admittedly too low. Now, I'm getting ready to install Billstein's and Vogtland springs, and I'll do without the CPP arms unless I'm then guaranteed that I'll chew through tires at an alarming rate.
So, if youse guys here think I'll still chew through the tires without the CPP arms, I'll probably forgo lowering alltogether. What's the concensus?

As in a 25.875" front and 26.000" rear for a -1.0 front camber. This keeps the fronts from wearing so quickly. (see the Stasis FAQ)
I have some new style CPP's I'm still debating installing...

I doubt the vogtlands would lower the car THAT much. I'm thinking you'll be fine with OEM arms. Call him and confirm what your camber settings will be with those springs and shocks.

I'm at 25-3/8" all around. I think ryans4 is right. It's all about toe settings. I believe I have a very slight toe in. Toe out is what kills tire wear.
