The movement away from turbos in the S line made them shelve it. Feedback from marketing showed
a strong sub-segment that wanted a twin turbo configuration. So, they pump it up to RS model with a healthy premium. The heat issue was engineered out, but the size and heat issue of the 4.2TT in the 8E must still be addressed; not to mention price point.

The secret is assumption based on the proper facts. The new S4 will not weigh under 3500 lbs and the
power potential will not exceed the capabilities of a Stage 3 B5 S4. I owned a V6 B6 A4 and tuned it and am currently tuning my second B5. Therefore, I have 1st hand knowledge of the capabilities of both chassis arrangements, relatively.

but you just said we don't know, therefore can't say B5 S4 will be faster
also, I said it will weigh roughly 3500lbs give or take a few pounds. Mike S. had aluminum numbers on one of his posts, and it really did work out to roughly 3500lbs, by changing the rear deck, the hood, and some other stuff. In short, what it comes down to is that you think the b5 S4 should beat the B6 S4, and I disagree, and base this on speculation from numbers from people who've been pretty close to Audi and have been correct in the past.
As much as you would like B5 S4 stage III to beat stock B6 S4, that will not make it so, nor will my speculation for B6 S4 to beat B5 S4 stage III be truth either. The only truth is we don't know.
Now, if we are going, on speculative numbers for B6 S4, then I would say your wrong.

Furthermore, on your secret assumptions, your B6 A4 is not a B6 S4, the B5 A4 is not B5 S4
your logic is flawed, a B5 A4 doesn't compare to a B5 S4, so, how can you even wager the B6 A4 can compare to the B6 S4.

The suspension layout is essentially the same in both expressions of respective platforms. :)
I bought a B6 A4 to evaluate it in V6 guise. What is your source of data collection e-mails and forum postings?
