Default Just replaced BPVs with 710Ns. Blow-off sound is gone!

Looks like the stock BPVs were the problem after all. I took the car to my dealer and they said the sound is normal for turbo car. I had some doubts a decided to change them myself. Looks like they were wrong. I don't feel any difference in driving the car but the noise is definitely gone. For anyone that's going to do this install, it's very easy, took me about 1 hour because I had a bitch of a time getting the old ones off. After that, about 15 min to put new ones on. A little oil on the valve helps them go in easier. Thanks to everybody who suggested using dikes to crimp the clamp. Worked great.

Default I know this question can get out of hand but....

What's a dike? I'm going to replace my stock valves with the 710N's soon too.

Default Uh, I wouldn't use oil to get them back on. (more)

Just keep a close eye on them. Even with the clamps on tight they are under a lot of preasure. Just make sure they dont pop off. For future reference use a _little_ bit of warm soapy water if necesary.

Default Actually that did come to mind. Especially on the driver's side hose.

Anybody know what the reason for that one being a braided hose is? I think I want to replace that particular hose because it felt fragile and brittle when I took it off. I was thinking of just going down to a local auto parts store and buying a rubber hose to replace it. What size hose would i need?
