Car and Driver performed the test. V1 took top honors.

"test" my detector like that. But I don't know anyone with a radar gun, and I don't have the nerve to ask a cop to radar me just for fun. That would be nice to get an instant-on, laser and standard gun and go out to a testing ground to learn your detector better. Like I said, anyone have this equipment or know a cop that would indulge us??

i don't want to get any tickets until "eventually" comes about.
and what about when i'm travelling? i'm not gonna have that "skill" worked out for a city i've never been in.
-------------
i guess what you're saying is that you don't feel the need all the features of the V1.
i'm saying that i DO want them. and until another detector comes out having them, no other detector is worth comparing.
i don't care if one detector detects at 11,325 feel and one only 8,435 feet. i only care if i get some indication as to where the radar is.
Sean Hester

they use it for the comp schools, to see how people are doing in different parts of the course.
i'm sure they'd let me use it for a test.
but i can tell you how the results of ONE test (the only one i care about) would go. here goes:
-----------------
here's the test:
you sit in your car with the detector on. i go out of your view and turn on the radar. then i ask you "where am i?"
here's the results:
V1: you're at "XXXXX"
any other detector: i have no idea, but eventually i'll develop a 6th sense that will allow me to tell your position.
Sean Hester

so, i have a question.
is it any differnt then any other detector in the way it conveys information? doesn't it just have a signal strength meter, and a radar type meter? with different sounds for different types?
or is there more? (counters, direction indicators, etc?)
Sean Hester
