RS4 MAF now ownz me

When I was testing everything earlier the car was seemingly hesitating/missing at upper RPMs with the stock MAF, so I disconnected it and the problem seemed to clear up for the most part. I wired up the RS4 MAF this evening, started the car and got major stumbling to the point of almost dying out - seemed to clear up when I gave it throttle to rev. Anyone know how I can remedy this so I can take some logs to post up? For now I've just unhooked it and am back to no MAF at the moment.
