I like your work but can you explain what you did?
What did you do to the turbos? Did you mess with both sides or just the turbine housing, or what? I thought extrude honing was the only way to smooth the internal sufaces, since it would be tough to get a polishing tool into certain areas.

There are so many variables between setups it's tough to really do a side by side comparison of gains due to just the turbos. I would be willing to bet that if the same person wrote software for a car with standard K04's, then installed RS6's and re-tuned for them, you would gain hp. If both tunes are very agressive, you'd have to run race gas on the K04's to catch up.

yeah 120mhp on RS6-s and pump ..or ko4-s and 100oct /race gas .. anything else is BS .imho.
if i could go r6-s i would in no time.. they are just more efficient and are able to make more power , maybe the same as the ko4-s for example but more reliable (don't need to spin as fast to make a ceratin level of boost like ko4-s).

I am only selecting FMIC because I can get these cheaper than RS4 SMIC's
Tubular manifolds I was considering, but I didnt think were essential.
Lowering CR I thought would allow higher boost(more air) but similar CR @ combustion and better power, but of course you suffer loss of power off boost. Its quite costly and I was not sure I would go down this road.
Ported K04's I am interested in because of the great results Mihnea has had. I am hoping with a better flow/less restriction I can run less boost/more timing.

I agree, to an extent. Many of the mods you listed are a waste of money...but many hybrid turbo...
...cars put up the same numbers on 93oct that straight K04 users do on 100oct.
