Default Knocking sound on acceleration, STFA comes up with prop shaft cv joint.

or the support bushing for the driveshaft/prop shaft.

under brisk acceleration it sounds like i'm rolling with a flat tire. if i cruise the car seems normal. I'm going to get under it tonight and take a look, but i guess i'm asking is could this also be caused by bad trans mounts and or diff mount?

Also if it is something with the prop shaft, should i immediately stop driving this car till i can get a new one installed? Since the problem only surfaces during hard acceleration, i'm thinking it's not to horrible.

Default Take a look under the car ASAP, look for anything not lined up correctly, boots broken, grease, etc.

Then contact one of us locally to inspect further/diagnose.

Default Does the steering wheel shimmy during said sound, can you feel it in the body or steering?

I've seen CVs/axles go bad, where you will get a significant speed-dependent wobble and the steering wheel goes apesh*t. If you have a knocking and it seems like it's to the bottom of the seat, I'd say the mainshaft center joint likely crapped out.
Like Rodge said, climb under and wiggle/torque things...if you're talking knocking, that scares me...drive easy til then.

Default yeah just got under and noticed that the driverside axle where it connects to the diff is wet

I think i may have been a decent leak for a long time so now the fluid level is low in the diff. I am going to pull the exhaust here in a bit so i can get the driveshaft and take a look at it. The feeling is definetly in the body, steering is fine, honestly it sounds like the rear tires went from round to square when it happens.

Check the diff fluid (loosen the fill plug first), both the level and for any chunks.

Possible loose rear diff mount, making the front of rear diff knock against body.

Default Fill plug for the transmission is drivers side at 10 o'clock compared to the left axle.

For the rear diff its on the passenger side, also around 10 o'clock compared to the right axle.
