Laser guns on NJ Garden State Parkway
Front page story in Star Ledger today. Quote: "They have never been used as intensely on a single road as they will be on the Parkway" Other State Trooper patrolled roads will have them too.
Guess how they paid for the guns? Tolls which were originally intended to pay for the construction and were supposed to be gone in the 60s. Bring back the taxes! At least I'll have some say on how my money gets spent.
On top of that just got an EZ Pass warning saying that a car with my tag went through the toll at excess of 35mph! Gimmy a break! Whatever I do I always slow down for the toll, almost to a complete stop! Even blindfolded I can tell the difference between 5-10 and 40mph!
I have gotta move...

Not very....
...any laser detector is hamstrung by the fact that the laser beam is quite narrow. Therefore, it's quite tough to get any advanced warning, even if someone is ahead of you.

Re: how effective is V1 against this?
Start looking for a new screen name <g> If the gun is aimed at you V1 will tell you that you've just got a ticket. If they are hitting cars ahead of you you may get a warning. V1 may help you id the favorite trooper spots on you commute route.
Anyone seen LIDAR jammers that work? I remember seeing one on the web that was reviewed and found to be somewhat effective. What you're supposed to do is after a hit is detected, slow down and turn it off allowing the radar to take a second reading. Forgot where I saw it though. It had two strips you mount in your grille on the headlight level and a detector unit inside. It was made somewhere in Europe, Holland?

Does LASER fall under FCC jurisdiction?
Since radar jammers are illegal because they emmit radar waves and not FCC certified, does LASER have the same protection? Also isn't any countermeasure against law enforcement pretty much considers bad?
