So if I decided I wanted to get the AMS chip, could I send them my already chipped ECU? Would they then remove the APR chip and put theirs on? Could I still sell that chip or should I just get a whole other ECU/chip for the AMS? THanks, almost finished.

If you don't plan on going back to APR, just send them the ECU, have them rip the APR out and put the AMS in. Thereby saving you some bucks, since ECUs are getting harder and harder to come by. On the flipside of that, you'd have a useless APR chip (apparently some people think its useless even with an ECU, but...) and be out the cash you spent on that. I guess it boils down to what you could sell the APR chip for versus what a new ECU costs. I guess that equation depends on whether APR ever updates the code, because I'd guess that the market value of used APR chips is pretty low right now.

return it within some reasonable amount of time...I think APR has a 30 day money back guarantee - if you're within 30 days, then I'd FedEx the APR chipped ECU to AMS, have them cut-off the APR chip, solder on the AMS/ABT, then have them FedEx you your APR chip back and then return it!

I'd buy whichever you plan to switch to and KEEP the APR chip/ECU in one piece. I did this (I switched to AMS/ABT) - your APR chip with the ECU will definately be worth $$$, the question is - how much? Right now, maybe not much to someone who reads these boards, but if v3.4 ever comes, and it's great, it will certainly be worth money. Might as well just keep it on a shelf and wait rather than ending up with a chip alone which might be worth next to nothing.
At least if you keep the APR intact and a new program comes out, it will be a free upgrade to try it out. I'm certain within 12 hours of v3.4 coming out, there will be tons of logs posted here and the question will be answered.
