Default Leaking rear-view mirror. Anybody figure out a fix yet?

yup, upgrade to a A6 or B6 autodim with compass

Default They can go bad - I'm on my 3rd during 7yrs of ownership

when you see the buble you have 'x' time to replace, eventually they will leak

Default Already have a nav installed. Would rather keep it simple.

Though I've heard that the compass version is supposedly better built. Don't know the validity of that though.

Default it's my opinion that adjusting the mirror might contribute to it going bad

There are thin layers that have the electrochromatic stuff sandwiched between them. Adjusting the mirror flexes the glass and creates a shearing force that could be the cause of the layers separating. That's why I've been careful when adjusting the mirror and used two hands, etc. The SOB still went bad in the middle of summer! Maybe heat is a factor?
