I installed led bulbs in the tail lights for the dual filament brake light. One of the bulbs contacts melted in the socket, the other blew the sidemarker fuse.
The only thing that i can think is that because i have ecodes i wired the turn signals/side markers to not light up with the low beams, they are only used as turn signals.
So does this mean that double the wattage is going to the rear side markers because the font lights are not being used and blew the LED tail lights?
The thing is that regular incandescent bulbs work just fine and in europe they dont have front side markers at all.
Any ideas?<ul><li><a href="http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm">http://autolumination.com/1156_1157.htm</a</li></ul>

You did not mention the wattage of the bulbs. I assume you purchased them correctly. As for the bulbs using what they need, There are three basic variables to electricity, watts, amperage, and volts, and they must match each other correctly.(in laymans terms) Compare it to putting a 100 watt bulb in a socket that is rated for a 10 watt bulb, or running a 240 volt appliance through a 120v plug, or a radio plugged into the oven outlet. Maybe the equalizer is some sort of voltage adapter. You can test your wires with a volmeter to see vow much power was going through the socket as well. Good luck

i should take a voltmeter to the socket and see what its putting out, even though regular bulbs work fine.
