Default Is anyone using header wrap with their downpipes?

Does anyone have jet hot coated downpipes?

Default I wrap my header before any DP takes places.

Seriously wouldn't header wrap hold the heat? I think the advantage of a downpipe w/ precats is it's ability to move heat away from the turbo quicker...

That's what the tape does....insulates the pipes and move the heat out.

Default Header wrap on a header keeps heat in on purpose.

However on a downpipe, it would not transfer more heat externally... if anything it would not be as smoldering on the outside, and would keep more heat in the pipe.

However, header wrap is extremely harsh on all piping that it covers. I have personally blown holes in headers with header wrap.

Default what? u wrap the pipes to keep the heat inside the pipe

hotter gasses move faster, it's not like heatsoak. Also a larger diameter pipe not only increases flow but allows the hot gases to expand more and move more, well flow better same ****

Default I agree with you, it was as if they chose not to bend the pipe...

And I still don't understand their flex connector. I get the mesh flex connector style (like stock), but I need pics to figure theirs out.

One benefit is they do say they are 3" pipes (it seems most other DPs are 2.25").

Default That's what I'm saying

I think it's a bad idea. If you keep the down pipe heated you'll risk transferring the heat back to the turbo.
