Default Let's play "Name that Part"...

Ok, so last night I moved over the CD changer from a 99.5 A4 to a 00 S4. I had to take out the whole metal mounting "shelf" to do that.

I took everything out of the A4, other than the CDC and the toolbox there was nothing attached to it (I have no Nav). When I took out the one in the S4 I noticed a small box attached to the bottom of it.

It's small plastic box, roughtly 4x2.5x1/2 inches with one connector with two wires and one connector with 4 wires going in to one of the long sides.

I wrote down partnumber and everything but I left the notes at home. I couldn't figure out what it is and I'm just very qurious. Anyone know what it is?

Default The amp is pretty specific looking and has a lot more wires comming out of it.

Also, it's not attached to said 'shelf' thing.

Default I removed that 'shelf' and I don't recall having such a small plastic box.

I don't know what you've got.

My car is an '01.5.

And now that I think about it I KNOW I didn't have anything like that attached to the CD changer shelf.

Default Asked the same question and received no response, it seems to have

optical connectors.

Also you note that round thing in the fender there, metal, not sure what that is either

Default yeah, it's not the amp.

I have bose (in both cars) and the amp is right forward of the shelf.

At first I thought it was something aftermarket put in, because I noticed a lot of what looks like plastic drill-shavings in the space there, but it has the audi rings on there and everything. It's mounted to the very bottom of the shelf.

That's the alarm horn - the alarm doesn't use the driving horns

My alarm horn is attached to the fender support beam way up in the top of the fender.
