The manual says it stands for "Electronic Power Control". My dealer says it means "Electronic Pedal Control". They say that there are sensors on the pedal itself that can cause the EPC light to glow. They were quick to point out that the Potentiometor (sp?) is not the culprit.
Are they crazy? Please advise.

If any of those systems has a problem, the light will come on. If the cluster is coded wrong, the EPC light will come on. I think they told you the Electronic Pedal Control because it's easier to remember.

EPC light came on while on highway (SCARY), subsequently no power above 3000 RPM. Pulled over restarted car and light went off. Apparently, when I went to the dealer, they could tell the light went off, but there wasn't any supporting data about the voltage of the gas pedal sensors. I have to wait until it comes on again, then I'm to take it back in for a computer hookup/readout.
