Yeah, Yeah flame at your discretion. I was in a pinch this week with a da** P1171 code (the dredded throttle body pot). I found and tried a small company in CA to rebuild it. They were great and I thought I would pass the info on to all to use at their discretion.
They've been refurbing TB's for quite a while and seem very knowledgable. As soon as I said it was a 2000 S4, he immediately said that the position pot goes out frequently, which was my problem. That was reassuring.
Long story short. They did not have a core, so I had to NDA my TB to them, they rebuilt and NDA it back the next day for $203. They paid for the return shipping which I thought was very accomodating.
They didn't get it done until almost UPS pickup time and I was a little concerned that Amex might flag the transaction as possible fraud(since I don't buy much in CA). They weren't concerned and said if necessary, they would ship it and we could settle any CC problems while it was enroute. Again, very accomodating.
There info is Jaytan Industries, 10331 Randall St., Orange, CA, 92869, ph: 888-652-9826 fax: 951-277-4658.
Oops, I accidentally listed the fax number before.<ul><li><a href="http://www.jaytanindustriesinc.com/">http://www.jaytanindustriesinc.com/</a</li></ul>
