At long last ... K40 pics
Here's the main display in the dash ... the left side light indicates radar coming from the front, the right side indicates signals from the rear. There are distinct tones for each single.. a quick "chirp" for X band, a pulsating "chirp" for Ka band, a grating sort of sound for K band that grabs your attention FAST, and a beeping and flashing array that indicates laser has come to town. The rear signal has an array of sounds that make it recognizable as different, but without looking down, you'll know the signal is coming from the rear. Like the K40, when the signal is close, it starts to "brap brap brap brap"...

On-off/Volume switch

The long part is a rotary dial that adjusts the volume of the speakers (embedded in the vents) ... the ring around the **** is a switch that goes left for filtered mode, right for highway mode, and dead center to be turned off. It's located a few inches above the driver's right knee.

Front detector unit

Sorry this is so grainy, but I extracted it from a picture of the front of the car taken on a different occasion, and it was pretty dark out when I took it! But you'll get the idea ... As you can see, it's put inside a little cut out in the front grille. I sort of wonder why it couldn't have gone behind the grille, but apparently that hurts the efficacy of the detector slightly. The rear detector is hidden up under the rear bumper, so there isn't really an easy way to take a picture of that, without taking my trunk apart.

Very Nice Rocky!
I have to say that if the V1 would've been able to do that, I would've gone your route. I'm glad I was able to inspire you in some ways to complete a more stealthy install than my own. Congrats! I like it!
