If you really want to, give the guy $5 and ask that you get to keep the keys and park your own car. This way the car remains locked, and is parked carefully. As you park make sure to put it next to a Porsche.

If you want to drive in Manhattan - Ford Escape is quite cool. Fastest car in 1/4 mile too, everyone else starts hitting brakes before the bumps. ;-) (Thank you Hertz)

Those roads are not a place to take a lowered, stiffly sprung car, and John has a Stasis setup IIRC.
