More like harmonic resonance from a poor fitting bipe caused it. ;p

Default Similar to the look of my '93 90CSQ when the front cross member sheared off.

Both tires tucked up under the wheel well, and the car nosed off the side of the road in a cloud of dirt. Luckily, no one was hurt.

My car was out of warranty, but Audi replaced everything for free, as they were quite eager to see what happened. They never got back to me about what the cuase was, but both sides sheared off just beyond the mounting point.

Man, that's dangerous. You'd think they'd make sure such things didn't happen in the current models.
