Default Looking for an Audi shop in Delaware (more...)

Do you know of any Audi-dedicated service shops/mechanics in Delaware? Is anyone on the board familiar with "The Audi Shop" in Wilmington, DE (what was your opinion on their service)?

Make the short trip to Baltimore and take you car to Induktion, you'll be glad you did.

Default Are you guys doing "service work"...

I thought you had gravitated away from that?

Default John (the Audi Shop) did my clutch (RS4). So far so good. He worked for the area dealer

(Winner) for several years, so he's been around Audi's for a good while.

Several of us have had him work on our cars - he's a wrench-man, not a tuner. He's got some attitude - others have walked away to get work done elsewhere.

For pretty straight-forward work (brakes, oil change, DTS install, exhaust, etc.) I take by S4 to my regular mechanic (in West Chester). A clutch is a more involved job, and he had never done a quattro clutch with dual mass flywheel before, and I was heading to AWE dyno day the next week, so I wanted someone who had done this before, so I went to John.

For the expensive repairs, I go back to the dealer as I am still Assured :-)

As Raj was suggesting, it also may depend on what you want done, as AWE is not in the general repair business.

Default Thanks - I'm looking for just a regular service shop for the moment (more)...

and I wanted some feedback regarding John. I've spoken to him a couple of times, just haven't had the chance to drop by his place.

Thanks Mike, I probably will, once I work up the courage to start modding...

I'll keep that in mind, although Baltimore does seem like a drive if its just for regular servicing.

Default I was not sure what he wanted done. You are correct though.

btw-

Do you think a slightly softer rear suspension would have helped prevent your spin?

Just wondering...

Default It wasn't a spin...

The rear just got loose on me. I had a mini-panic attack, accompanied by some abrupt corrections at 75+ which was leading me into another set of turns. I'm sure most of the students in the next higher group would have handled it fine...this was a first for me, so I botched my corrections a bit.

A softer rear spring would have probably kept the rear in check, but I would have also been understeering quite a bit through the rest of the track. Honestly, I don't have any regrets. Jeff recently picked up a stasis kit, and he was grinning ear to ear all weekend (well, until he ran out of gas)! :-P
