Default Looks like it's time to replace the driveshaft.....

So, I've had vibration between 65-80mph coming from the center/rear of the car for a while. I checked the CA's, TE's, wheels & tires, alignment, wheel bearings, and cv's and they all checked fine.

Then I checked the drive line and didn't find any play in the front or rear cv's... but, I found the rubber at the rear of the driveline center support bearing is rubbing.

I think (and hope) I found the cause of the vibration. So, time to replace the driveline, right? Any vendor recommendations... PowerTrain Industries? Raxels? Wholesaleimportparts.com?

May want to try aligning it first. Play in the center mount? Or is it just out of position?

Default Hard to tell from the pic, do you mean it's rubbing on the U-joint?

You won't know for sure that the DS is it until you spend the $ to replace it which is kind of a gamble.

I got one from Wholesaleimportparts.com in January. It's working fine for me but there are +s and -s.

Plus: inexpensive, U-joint is different and can be replaced separately in the future, comes with CV gaskets.

Minus: U joint assmbly is much larger and may hit the tunnel shield below the DS. Easily fixed as you can dent the tunnel to make room. you do lose some exhaust clearance doing this.
A weight came of my DS just after installation and threw it out of balance. Luckily I found the weight and JBwelded back in place.

Customer service is ok, they offered to warranty the shaft after throwing the weight but I suggested JB to avoid another R/R.

Default yes, it's rubbing on the U-joint and wearing away the rubber.....

thanks for the input. I wonder if PowerTrain or Raxels have OEM U-joints or larger ones like Wholesaleimportparts.com. Time to do more research!

Default I replace mine 6mos ago...got it through Fleet Pride for $450 +core

they are supplied by Powertrain Industries

I have heard from others of good experiences with Raxles.com. I almost ordered from Wholesale Import parts but I was never able to reach via telephone.

I went with Fleet Pride since they are local in the event of a warranty claim. All has been well since replacement.
