Default Loss of boost, more eratic boost, and turbos seem louder..(more inside)

So ever since i took of my dvs off last week to look underneath them, my car doesn't seem to be running right, and im pretty sure that there the reason. The 710ns i have in are old, like years old. In 2nd gear, i used to hit about 16psi,now, im only getting 14psi. Now if i shift up to 3rd, i will hit 16psi again, but the boost more eratic, i can see it on my gauge. This is whats making me think its my 710ns. The thing that worries me the most is the added noise im hearing from the turbos(whistle/whining). I am in no way ready to drop 3.5k for a ko4 upgrade. Could faulty dvs cause the turbos to seem louder?

Also, i smoke tested the whole system, no leaks.

Default Id to a real pressure test. Since your leaks seem to be above 14psi, the smoke test isnt doing

anything.

I'd be willing to bet that you didnt tighten the clamps on the DV's enough and air is escaping there. You need to do a pressure test and run it up past 15psi, so make sure you have the tester tightened down very well, or it will pop off and scare the **** out of you

Default 2nd. Pressure test, check all DV connections and tighten again and

around TBB as well, since you could have moved it.

Default Im so confused...need help.

So today i checked my dvs with a pump, they hold 25psi like a champ, its not them. I rammed close to 6 to 8 psi worth of smoke into the system with an extremely expensive smoke tester, and no leaks. So i got and drive the car, was making normal peak boost, but just seemed eratic, but boost was normal. Was making about 16psi in 2nd, and about 17psi in 3rd.(Apr v5). What im wondering is, is this signs of my turbos going? Or could the 98 degree heat have something to do with the "different" boost?

Default "seemed erratic"

that's not a very technical description

do you have any vagcom/ecux logs to confirm any of this?
