Loud, vehicle speed droning noise from rear of car...
It starts around 70 kilometres an hour and progressively gets the loudest around 100 kilometres per hour. If I go into neutral or downshift to increase the engine rpms, the sounds is the same. I don't think it's engine related. The tires are brand new, so I'm hoping that it's not it. But I guess a worn suspension could create scalloping in the tire that is making this noise.
Does anyone know what control arm or wheel bearing problems sound like?
Anyone know what the sound is?

I'm pretty sure it's one of your rear wheel bearings...
You can check if it's the passenger or driver side wheel bearing. If the noise is gone when you turn right, it's the passenger side because the weight transfers to the driver side and the passenger side wheel bearing gets less load, thus less or no noise. A really bad wheel bearing makes an unbearable sound and can be dangerous because it could seize up. If it does, well you know the rest of the story.
