Default Difference: Galati's S4 uses a production engine...GTR's is nonproduction, developed for race...

...which is why they banned it.

Default What a load of crap. Dinan has confirmed the S/C system they are working on.....

There are a host of others that will follow. I am #1 on the list at Classic BMW in Dallas for the Dinan S/C system when it arrives. It retains the FACTORY WTTY from BMW but will be run with low boost (5-7 psi) and will will produce **only** about 100 or so hp over the stock 333 hp engine. I say 'only' because S/C engines often make about a 40-50% hp gain. This engine is very highly strung (11.5:1 comp. ratio) and does not lend itself to easy modifications. To say they are staying away is completly false. "They" are waiting to see what the Dinan S/C looks like to mimic the design (as they have done in the past) and produce it for less $$.

Default You're wrong about one thing: Dinan does *not* retain the factory warranty

Which can be verified by reading the post linked to below, and by reading the post linked to in *that* post.

Dinan sells a warranty, for an extra charge not included with their mods, because their mods void the factary warranty.

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/364813.phtml</a

Default Mike you are wrong on some of your points......

#1, There are guys claiming 12.9X at the 1/4 track now. (not stating that it is fact but....)

#2 There is a video on Roadfly E46 M3 site that has a stock M3 running 13.07 @105 or 106.

#3 My stock M3 will run 0-60 in 4.66

#4 Without the speed limiter, the M3's will run 175 mph. I have also seen many quotes of 181 mph. (Obviously from the Euro guys) True they have 343 hp but when corrected for SAE the gain is only about 5 hp or so. No, I can't verify 175 or 181 personally but I can testify to 167. Yeah, even with the Speed limiter. It DID NOT KICK IN. There are other reports of guys going over 155 too.

#5 Dinan HAS A S/C Mod. Call 'em and ask them for yourself. It is supposed to be available by August. I am on the list here in Dallas at Classic BMW. There are more than a few vendors who are also looking into the S/C mod. Yes, with the Dinan S/C you will RETAIN YOUR FACTORY WTTY!!!!!!! That is why it is taking so long. They will run very low boost (5-7 psi) and only gain about 100 hp. But, a 430 hp M3 sounds pretty great to me.

I enjoy your posts and respect your experiance quite a bit, but, you missed some facts in your post.

Regards,

Sean

I thought BMW actually built a small number of V8 M3's for Europe only? But Porsche still whined...

Default Again, Dinan mods do *not* retain factory warranty; see my post above.

It's a widely-held misconception, which is false.
