M box ecu in a car with an H model now?

Default M box ecu in a car with an H model now?
Hi - just purchased a used 2001 S4 (Nogaro) and I'm thinking of a chip upgrade. I believe from the build/service date that this is an H box ecu (have not had the chance to look yet). However, I have access to an M box ecu - can I use this unit/later model ECU in my car for the chip upgrade?

wont work and dont recommend it. if you are an h box get an h box chipped ecu...

Default yes it does. even in my m-box car i have ran h, m, and t flawlessly.
although i would always recommend sticking the proper letter ecu in the car.
