"Cannot connect to ECU" whenver I try logging or checking codes with ECUx.

Default shrug, works fine for me to help the gf & mom. they're both behind firewalls. hasn't been

difficult to use at all (click button, hit okay, use remote computer). and it's enabled by default on xp.

anyways... my experience with remote desktop and remote assistance has been positive. i'm sure whatever product you work on has it's own set of benefits too.

Same situation, but Vag-Com works, but then I'm using a usb / serial adaptor

Default totally agreed - some are different than others too. wipe the machine and get a clean OS install on

it.

you're using windows, uninstalling something doesnt mean its gone

Default TO lazy to read all the posts here but:

APR Does have problems with their USB cables as I had to send back mine to get a replacement. Call APR you might have a defective cable.

2nd. My supplied cable didn't work either. My Ross Tech usb cable works fine.

Nah, that is definitely not it. I hav used 3 different VAG cables and the APR supplied cable.
