Default MAF question. I did some logs a few weeks ago and was only coming up with around 220 max. i got a

few responses saying that was normal with the bigger piping, well my question is how does the MAF reading affect the boost. heres what i did, before with the MAF reading 220, my boost on my boost guage would read 20-21 lbs. and slowly taper 1 or 2 lbs and sometimes jump back up, over 6200 rpms. i swaped out my MAF the other day with someone elses and i was not able to record any reading but now i'm only hitting 15-16 psi and it slowly builds as the rpms go up. sometimes it buils to 18, maybe 19 but in first gear it only hits around 17-18 when before it was up around 20 could this be this borrowed MAF? before i swapped aout the MAF second gear would have a little extra kick in the higher RPMS but now it doesnt it's just a smoother pull but doesnt actually feel as hard. thanks for any help

Default Do you have a Bosch MAF or Hitachi conversion for A-box?

If it's the Bosch, it's probably failing. Try disconnecting it and running in speed density mode. If it pulls harder and you get your boost back...it's the MAF failing.

Default no i have the hitachi, it's mandatory with the AWE kit. i tried unpluging it and it seemed to run

worse. can you only do the speed density mode with the bosch or does it not matter wich one it is?

Default That's what I thought. I asked because the Hitachi reads high when it fails (usually).

So I don't think it's the MAF. Those are stupid low numbers though.

Do you have an intake? Those kits are picky with the air metering.

Your BOV's aren't helping things either.

Default and if I were you, I would lose the BOVs

if you want the whoooosh, get the whooooosh sound generator. Its cheaper than what would happen if you keep running that engine lean.
