Default MAF question - The other day, I pulled 2 codes, both running rich codes (bank 1 and bank 2).......

I do not have the numbers written down in front of me but I think it was 17537 and 17353...(both, 35-10, intermittent)

Anyway, did some searching here and found it could be MAF related - unplugged the MAF and the car runs awesome - much better......so, is there some danger in running with the MAF unhooked for a short time?

(BTW, I'm running AWE Stage III, H-box, MBC alone with PEB TCD).....

Also, I know AWE's MAF housing scales down the air flow #'s but mine were pretty much the same (maybe down 10-15g/sec) when I logged prior to unplugging - can you have a bad MAF but still be recodring normal MAF values with the VAG?

Thanks in advance.

Default Check your fuel trims at idle and acceleration. Compare O2 voltages between MAF and speed density

modes. Email me if you have any questions.

Good luck Jason.

no as in "no danger" or "no, you can't have a bad MAF and have normal MAF #'s"?

Default if you're MAF is bad, you're not going to get normal MAF numbers IMO

and no danger in running without MAF, though you might run slightly rich...but that's not going to hurt if you're only doing it for a few days. i've ran without MAF plugged in for days at a time with no issue

He asked two questions in his original post but you answered once so he was just trying to clarify.
