Default MAF screen removal questions for those that have done it...

Did you remove the MAF sensor from the MAF housing or did you try to take the screen out without touching the sensor? I found one post where someone just laid it flat on a table and punched it and the flow straightener out, then re-installed the plastic flow straightener.

I don't have the right tool (looks like a keyed torx) to remove the sensor from the housing. Anyone know specifically what I need? I was thinking I could just remove the sensor, but it in a baggy, and then take my time on the housing. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Default Thanks I saw that already though, I was wondering if you can remove the MAF sensor from the MAF

housing. I don't want to hit the sensor by accident : )

Default Sure.. You need a "security" torx though.

You should be able to pick one of those up at check or your local tools speciality shop. I believe it just has two s-torx bolts then the sensor should pull straight out? Good luck.

Yes - it's been discussed quite a bit actually, you can find more info on a search.
