Man, Edmunds is really ga-ga over the GT-R - another review

But driving these two cars back to back, it's not long before you realize that the Nissan makes it seem old-fashioned."
I still like my B5 S4, but damn...<ul><li><a href="http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=123940?tid=edmunds.il.home.photopanel..1 .*">For all-round ability, I have no doubt the Nissan is the best car I've ever driven...</a></li></ul>

This is kinda my opinion of the car that I have been forming...
I'm not overly impressed.
When you think about it, Japan has been doing this for years. Create a car thats faster, cheaper then it's European counterparts. The Koreans now are trying to create a car thats faster, cheaper then it's Japanese counterparts. Americans, well no one understands what their doing...
The thing is, every single attempt for Japan to create a car like this, has *somewhat* failed, as it lacked the soul. It is hard to explain.
So basically, Nissan took the GT-R and placed it beside the Porsche 911 turbo and said lets create a car that is faster and cheaper. Engineers at Porsche did something very different. They didn't have yard sticks saying 'lets make it do this better then this car', they created a car around the driver.
This is what I think you pay for when you buy a Porsche vs a Nissan. You can buy soul or a yard stick.
I don't know if this is what maybe a lot of others feel when they buy an 'over priced' German automobile.

other than there much more to a car than been fast. while nissan migh've match the speed
and i say might because not sure if that test is bias somehow.
the rest of the car is not so great. Def doens't have the looks of a porsche, and prob doesn't feel as good as driving a porsche., and many other short comings.
i really don;t think the GT-r is gonna eat some of the market from the p car. Its like the shoe analogy we hear all the time.
If you are going out to buy some Italian shoes your are not going to settle for nikes.

Similar idea here
It seems that in terms of performance, the Japanese cars can rival or even surpass some of their European counterparts but in terms of completing the entire package, it seems like the Euro companies are able to offer the complete performance, driving experience, etc, package.
