Default Maybe a stupid question- suspension

Few days ago i packed my car to make the trip up to school. When i got it all packed, it looked lowered, which was very cool - definately a mod for the future.

My question:

If you lower the car to what it looked like when it was full of stuff, then i put all that stuff back in, will it stay at the exact same height, or will it go even lower? I assume it will stay around the same height because the shocks will be shorter, does not mean that they will go lower, just that they have less "high" to come down from.

Just looking for verification. Thankz

Default So your future mod is to pack lots of stuff in the car to make it look lowered? :)

It may adversely affect your 1/4 mile time!

Default If you lower the car (say with coilovers) and you cram the car full of stuff....

then it will go lower than it was before.

Default Huh?.......

actually, the ride height will be less resistant to change with a given load because aftermarket springs are generally stiffer.

Default yes it will go lower... but by how much depends on your spring rates.

Generally spring rates are higher than stock and suspension travel especially down is limited. So it won't go down quite as much so you will be good. don't worry about it.
