Default MBC help...car only holds 14psi

I was driving the car yesterday and got on the throttle. Through 1st and 2nd the car ran normally(20psi tapering to ~17). Then in 3rd it would only hold 14psi. It now only holds 14psi in any gear. Boost is very smooth and not very erratic. Could it be the MBC getting stuck open or a boost leak? I'm just trying to get some ideas of what to check for other than the obvious possible tears in hoses etc. I don't really hear anything out of the ordinary also. No BOV type sounds or air gushing out.

TIA

Default That is odd .. I would pressure test ASAP, don't want to overspin those

bad boys. No changes to the dial on the MBC ?

Default This happened to a friend of mine (remember KissMyS?).....anyway.........

he was using the JoeP MBC. Somehow, the lower thing that tightened came loose and the screw used to set boost backed out a bit.

Check to make sure the locking screw (if your MBC has one) is locked tight and that the set screw has not backed out a bit.

Default yes it's tight. I'm going to check to see if the ball/spring inside got stuck

it happened before and cause me to make only 10-11psi. hopefully it's something obvious.

Default How is Joe doing? If you talk to him or see him, tell him I say hi. He is a good guy!

Not that you aren't :P

Default Which MBC? Sue Piggie for a defective MBC.

I'll split the money with you since I came up with the idea.

You do NOT do this if you are running MBC only. It is optional for MBC in parallel. Mine is plugged.
