Default Is the mesh over the flex pipe just a cover or does it actually provide some function? Shop that

replaced my clutch tore the mesh and was wondering if it was a big deal.

It provides support to the coiled flex joint underneath. Limits movement so as not to break.

Thanks. Are the joints replaceable or do I have to get the entire DP? They look welded on.

Default Stock dps are cheap... If you have an aftermarket one, you can replace the whole flex...

I got mine from Falcon Engineering in the UK (AKA Milltek).

There's got to be someone here in the US that sells them to regular folk like you and I.

In the meantime, take some measurements.

They're stock. Just didn't want to go through the pain of replacing.

Default Mine started to come apart also. I bought some "exhaust bandage" at advanced auto parts. It was

5 bucks. I wrapped the mesh with the bandage then it hardens when the exhaust gets hot. Figured it will stop it from coming apart further and provides the same function as the mesh did. So far so good.
