Be sure to check out the Yokohama AVS Sport. I've heard nothing but good things.

Default I have the Pilot Sports...

I upgraded to the Pilot Sports a few weeks ago. Handling and responsiveness has noticeably improved with only the slightest compromise in ride. Ride is still too soft for my taste, but nothing a set of Eibachs won't fix. The Pilots are a bit expensive ($250 each for 225/45ZR17) but worth it in my opinion. I have never had the Bridgestones so I can't really comment on those.

Default S02s are fantastic. I have had 3 sets and loved them.

The new S02 Pole positions are multi compound and give equal performance during wear.

I know people who have had the Michelins on their BMWs and liked them but I had S02s on 2 different 911s and thought that there could not be a better tire. ZR rated and ready to fly. Only complaint is that the get very bad when the road is cold (i.e. winter) and must be changed. I have used S02 in summer and Yokohama High Performance Snows on my last 3 cars and was very happy.

Good Luck,

ALf

Default The S-02 PP's are less than the Pilot's and...

...while I believe from what I've seen that they pretty much give equal performance, the S-02 PP's are supposedly better in the wet, and an M3 owner I ran into at an Auto-X indicated his Pilots would literally get worn out after 3 Auto-X events, so I'd bet that if you put a lot of friction forces on them, the Pilot's tread life will be very short.
