It comes up quite often on this board. I have the great joy of owning both, something about fast 4 doors...
There is a lot of variation amongst K04 cars so it's hard to speculate. In my case, my E55 would walk all over my stage 3 car on 93 octane. On 100 I think it would be a good race.
My E55 has ran a 12.4 @ 114mph bone stock, trapped in the 115s but at a higher ET. It is fast and gets even faster above 100mph.
It takes a VERY healthy or lightweight K04 on 93 to keep up with a stock E55. However, it should also be noted that with pulley, ECU, and exhaust, you are talking 120-123mph traps with the E55. I'll be doing that come spring unless I go for the CLS55.

E55 is a monster stock...especially from a roll. It takes a healthy/strong running Stage 3 (on pump) or a "normal" Stage 3 on racegas to give it a good run for its money, especially from a roll and above triple digit speeds. Now if you mod the E55 with pulley, ecu, and exhaust...then it's lights out
PS. I wish I could have an E55...errr, or better yet, make that the new E65 that's comming ;-)

I have been absolutely destroyed by one of those on several occassions, that I can barely make out the model of the car.
Our cars are fast, but N.A. hp on those AMG cars are amazing. The turbo feel in our cars only makes it 'seem' a lot faster.

Unless you were under the impression they are doing an AMG V12TT in the E-Class which is not true. For the 2007MY the 55K engine is making way for the 6.3L N/A V8 - much to my disappointment. It'll be a fast car, but will not have the mod potential of the 55K cars. Oh well, at least the V12s don't seem to be going anywhere (yet).

like said before, a healthy Stage 3 is a good run for E55's. We've seen Ryne's car (which is healthy Stage 3) beat an E55 with exhaust 3 times (from a roll and dig) on pump gas. I'm sure it'd be a good run either way
