Misfires! 16684, 16687, 16690 at ~ 20K anyone else?

Default Misfires! 16684, 16687, 16690 at ~ 20K anyone else?
Anyone else have these codes thrown before? I was told that it is an oil misfire. The tech said 90% of the time its due to excessive carbon buildup clogging a valve. They cleaned out my cylinders.

I'm kinda stumped as to why this would happen so early in the engine's life. He recommends additives to the fuel every once in a while to keep it clean. Anyone find this to be helpful/necessary?

Haven't used any fuel additives but I had misfires before 5k even.

Default 91 octane. not always Chevron w/ Techron. i'm still not convinced it isn't just marketing hype.
but this might make me change my mind.

Default How low are you running the tank?
If you are running it down to E all the time, you'll see misfires. Also have em check your plugs.

i run it till the buzzer goes off all the time. i don't go much past that though.
