Default More on moonroof noise: is the cover supposed to be aligned with glass?

OK, so I'm still really peeved about my new moonroof noise (different from the "normal" wind buffeting sound -- it occurs at all speeds and doesn't stop with windows down). I think I've traced it to the moonroof cover rattling.

So: Is the cover supposed to be pushed back when the moonroof is fully open, or is it supposed to be aligned with the glass (i.e. is the front of the cover supposed to be aligned with the front of the glass)?

There are two small hooks at the front of the cover on the top. Are these to grab on to the glass or are they to stop the cover from getting pushed back even further?

Either it's the cover or it's the elusive sticker that some people have mentioned being left there from production.

And Yes, I did STFA. :-)

The low speed 'buffeting' sound sucks.

Default It's not the low speed buffetting sound. I'm talking about a distinct rattle when the body flexes..

or when I hit bumps. I just figured that out today. I don't think my noise is as much wind-related...

you can get rid of that by cracking your rear windows

Default Mine sounds more like a pop......

If the car is cold and I open the roof....the first bump or jolt will warrant a muffled 'bang' from the roof.....then all is good. Until the next time....WTF?
