Default More on oil

My manual says API SJ and/or ACEA A2 or ACEA A3, just like yours.

The 5w30 botte you posted shows SJ, but only ACEA1!, NOT 2 or 3

0-40 meets BOTH standards

ACEA A3,B3,B4
API SL,SJ,EC,CF
ILSAC GF3

Now, I am going to take it for granted that meeting both standards is better, as far as those porperties the standards DESCRIBE.

AFAIC, If I can use 0w-30, 5w-40 and 5w-30 according to the manual, then I whould be able to use 0w-40 no problem, AND get the added benifit of a higher performing product<ul><li><a href="http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil1_0W-40.asp">http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil1_0W-40.asp</a</li></ul>

Default Right. Shouldn't matter.

And the delta (30 v. 40) makes little difference since it is synthetic. The bad things associated with high delta oils (very high amount of additives) is only related to non-synthetics. I guess the only arguement still holding is Audi states 0w-30 is the factory fill, but on the other hand also states no problems with 40's either so the whole point is moot. If you want an API SJ,SL,ACEA A-2,B-2 0w-30 then the only one I know of is AMSOIL Series 2000.

API SL, SH, SJ, CF
ILSAC GF-1, GF-2, GF-3
ACEA A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2
Chrysler MS-6395 H
Ford ESE M2C-153G
GM 4718M, 6094M
US MIL L-46167B
VW 505.00, 501.00
Mercedes Benz AG 226.1
JASO VTW Spec.<ul><li><a href="http://www.amsoil.com/products/tso.html">AMSOIL Series 2000</a></li></ul>

Default Except for the higher viscosity delta of 0W-40 that does not meet OEM factory specs for U.S. cars.

People can read the actual words themselves here. "Singly or in combination with" mean just that. The 'and/or' interpretation does not exist in the actual type of my manual which is an '01.5 S4. Saying that it requires both means that you can't run European oil in your European car because European oil doesn't print (A)merican (P)etroleum (I)nstitute classifications such as 'SJ' on their bottles. You 0W-40 guys cannot justify OEM specs as condoning your choice despite how much certain people want to wish it so. LOL.<ul><li><a href="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng9.shtml">Oil Tech article from AW</a></li></ul>

Default "Singly or in combination with"

Both 0w30 and 0w40 meet those specs, which are not viscosity, pre se, but performance

Default But, the '0W-40' is not specifically mentioned in the 'you can also use' portion of the OEM specs.'

If you feel comfortable using the 0W-40 as a 'in combination' recommendation, do so knowint that the viscosity delta is 5W higher than anything else listed by particular as OEM recommended in the manual. Please don't kill the messenger.

Push a thicker liquid through the same ID of a pipe under the same pressure and note the velocity.
