meet Audi's specs:

of this crap you are throwing out. I'm done with this debate. Like I said, I could care less what you run in your car.

fixed the F hose problem, the TBB is still a weak point, and the K03's still suck.
Nonetheless, 0W-40 is still within Audi's spec'd range of 0W-30 to 5W-40...this imaginary viscosity delta that you've invented is meaningless. Furthermore, Mobil 1 0W-40 meets all of Audi's recommendations for API and ACEA classes, thier 0W-30, which you run, DOES NOT!!!

miles. It is how audi used them on the 2.7t, and the oiling problems that make them suspect

I think I am going to use AMSOIL 0w30.. Wow this stuff looks good! I wonder why the Mobil1 0w30 doesn't meet both SJ and SH combined .. AND mobil1 0w30 doesn't meet ACEA A2 or ACEA3

Amsoil 0W-30 meets OEM viscosity, API, and ACEA recommendations and is the best meeting all the criteria stated in the manual page posted. Hving a fan club doesn't make you any more less deluded on this issue. LOL.

ACEA is okay in dino or syn. 0W-40 is not recommended. Choke on the facts. I proudly stand behind the factory specs and encourage all to ignore internet wannabe engineers and just read the manual. Mission accomplished. LOL.

That's what this whole thread is about, and a few other threads. That's why people are saying if you want to use Mobil then go with Mobil1 0w-40 since it covers all the ACEA specs. The debate is that it is not the initial recommended oil in the manul, but a close alternative since 5w-40 is mentioned. Like I said in my post viscosity delta is pointless to discuss for synthetics. If you want a 40 weight go with 0w-40 if you want a 30 weight go with 0w-30. But AMSOIL is the only 0w-30 I know of to meet all the specs in the manual and be Audi's initial recommendation.
Here's another feather in AMSOIL's cap...Other than absolute viscosty (which is obvious since it's a 30 weight v. 40 weight)AMSOIL 0w-30 specs are better, or almost equal to Mobil1 0w-40.
AMSOIL 0w-30 Viscosty Index = 196
Mobil1 0w-40 Viscosty index = 187
AMSOIL 0w-30 High Temperature High Shear=3.5 Mobil1 0w-40 High Temperature High Shear=3.6
AMSOIL TBN = 11
Mobil1 = N/A
AMSOIL 0w-30 Viscosity at 100ēC = 11.3
Mobil1 0w-40 Viscosity at 100ēC = 14.3
