Default More RS4 clutch thoughts...

First off the car has been driven less than a hundred miles since the clutch was put in. My first impression is how the low in the pedal action the clutch engages. I moved my seat up because for smooth shifting you really have the press the clutch all the way to the floor quickly. The clutch will reengage by lifting the pedal a couple of inches off the floor. By the time the stock clutch had worn out it engaged at the top of the pedal action, completly opposite from what the RS4 is set at. I know these are self adjusting clutches so do the techs set the clutch to start low in the pedal action and as it self adjusts the pedal action moves to the top?

I find that the clutch engagement is quite abrubt on the RS4 clutch and getting really smooth shifts has been an issue. It must be the increased clamping force that I am not used to. Point of reference, by the time the stock clutch had worn out it would slip with my boost gauge showing any positive manifold pressure.

For now I am taking it easy as I break the clutch in. It is very grabby compared to the stock disc. The 1-2 shift can easily jolt you in the back of your seat, you can be nasty with this clutch. Once it is broken in I will update.

Once it's broken in and you get used to the clutch, it's great.

Default Do you guys recommend just getting the RS4 once the stock one wears out?

My car has 60k on it, so I figure the clutch has to be getting old. Should I get an RS4 or just get another OEM...

Default Interesting. My switch from stock to RS4 clutch was pretty transparent.

The engagement point and weight were about the same.

It was a lot less noticable than the new turbos I got installed at the same time

Did you need to have your flywheel resurfaced?
