Default Correlation btwn track use & failure?

Mine failed at the track. It was heavy use that killed it. Maybe those who said theirs was OK have not tracked thiers?

Default I have a friend that has a VW jetta 1.8t that has the spec stage 3

says it wont hold at all going up a hill. They tried calling spec and the message was "sorry but the mail box is FULL". Need to do a poll of all Audi/VW's that have bought the clutch in the last few months.

Default SPEC has repeatedly ignored and/or failed to address clutch/flywheel issues.

Between myself, Achtuning, and Jeff Moss...we could build a case against SPEC that would be airtight.

So forget what David at SPEC says and look at what he has done. I'm trying to keep my emotions in check here, but it's hard to when I see the comments being made by David in e-mails to people.

Since I resigned from ND, it's not my battle to fight anymore. However, ND has officially DROPPED all SPEC products with cause. The story is not over yet between ND and SPEC. I suspect legal issues are on the horizon.

Default That scares the hell out of me. What if I put this 2/3 in and THAT doesn't hold either?

Do you think your friend would mind if I gave him a call to chat about it?

Default spec has advertised their clutches as being able to handle track usage

Especially given the hp/torque ratings on each staged clutch. If their clutches could truly handle the abuse then the trannies would probably be failing before the clutches.

Default as per Ben below, of the 9 that failed, how many were under track conditions (mine was jun 2003) ...

i still drive it everyday with no problem

it was worked in properly

i got the "while very, very hot could not downshift problem"

while it is indeed a failure, it is not a full failure like others have experienced

so, of the 9, how many have tracked?
