since my s4 and my wife's volvo XC were both rear ended this last summer. I am thinking about mounting a horn in the rear of the car to get the attention of drivers behind me.
ideally, it would be great to mount a horn, with extra flashing red lights in the rear of the car.
any ideas?

with 3 red lights blazing in front of them, a horn is not going to make any difference. Nothing you can do about getting rear ended except to possibly get out of their way. I have been rearended twice in the last year... it gets quite annoying, but in both situations a horn and flashing lights would not have made any difference. The satisfaction I get is when I go to their insurance adjuster and hit them up with over a grand in damages (cost for a new bumper and painting, so that is the cheapest they get away with), that's gotta hurt their premiums :-)
