Default Moving to Phoenix. Anything to keep in mind (car wise) for the hotter weather?

Especially pertaining to oil and turbo cool down?

_ESPECIALLY_ since I'll be leaving the nice nest of warranty soon as well as a dealer I've built a relationship with...

ahh well.

Default Leaving warranty...you've got 50,000 miles in one year?

I don't have much to add, except that your car will be slower now with the high heat.

Default Royal Purple oil would be advised.

Oil cooler
fmic
rad fan
less antifreeze
water injection

Any of these.

Default I use Redline oil and always let my car run for a few minutes if I run it hard.

Other than that, I really haven't had any problems with the horrible heat we get down here.

Default Buy a sunshade, tint to 0%, and drink lots of water. ;-) Oh, and...

steer clear of that nudist colony that Dave Attell went to! DOM nude karaoke, OMG. :P

Default What the hell? Why? Man, you haven't felt heat until you move to phoenix...

I dare not step into that city in the summer, plus, you're going to be far away from all the tracks.

Good luck. I thought you were going to buy a house in Sac.

At least you have a tan already. You won't burn like the white boys.

Default heh Definitely hot....

However, I'm not sure what you're referring to about tracks. There are THREE in the phoenix area.

and I'd add the tint your windows as dark as possible.

Default I felt exactly like this...

Until I moved to AZ. Granted, I don't live in Phoenix, but I visit often (fiance's parents live there... which pretty much makes me a vegetarian)

Phoenix has awesome weather 9 months out of the year, where else can you wear shorts on New Years? Coming from Colorado (where I love), it's pretty damn cold for 4 or 5 months. So more or less, it's a "pick your poison" kind of place.

Die by heat, or by cold... I'm sure I cars prefer cold ;-)

Default Heh... yeah I know. My stars fell into alignment and I got an AWESOME job offer thrown at me

last week.... literally not more than 30 mins prior, a window to back out of my home opened up. (sellers not willing to perform/negotiate requested repairs).

Yeah... I know it's hot. Thing is... there's really no such thing as a perfect place to live. If there is.... it's freaking expensive. *shrug*.

AZSantorin pretty much sums up my visits to Phoenix the last couple of years. I figure... worst case... I can move out in a year if I really dont' like it

I'm leaving my current group on good terms... They'd be ecstatic to have me back.

Oh.... and yeah... It's going to be nice not worrying about getting sunburn =)
