Default Certainly hope you have a light colored car. You will come to appreciate how dark colors absorb heat

and strategic parking to take advantage of what little shade you can find.

I am sorry to say, you will never really get used to the heat. I grew up in it for 18 years and promptly fled to cooler climates.

Default Tell me about it. In LA, where it's nowhere near as scorching...

It's brutal to get in and bear the first 10 minutes in the VW.

Black with Black leather interior. I'd swear the metallic tint I got absorbs heat.

Default You should try vinyl seats in a convertible.

As a kid we had a '59 T-bird convertible with vinyl seats and the first summer we had it we discovered the misery of getting into the car on a summer afternoon when the top had been down - with shorts on no less.

Came close to medically treatable burns from trying to sit down in the car to go home. Learned to live with terry cloth seat covers and cool seats very quickly after that.

Air conditioning units weren't all that common back then. You pretty much can't buy a car down there without it anymore....

Default Reducing Anti-freeze ratios is one way of reducing temps

Most cars come with a 50% ratio for extreme cold, but tests have show running closer to 25% is more efficient.

Also we have THREE rad fans. The one in front is a coolant afterrun fan, then there is the belt driven coolant fan and lastly the smaller rear passenger side rad fan activated by A/C or temps over 230.

You can (as some A4's have) removed the motor driven unit and run a shorter belt and an electric fan which flows more air at a standstill than the motor ones flows at full till boogy.

Royal purple also makes a water addative similar but different than water wetter, tested and proven to lower water rad temps 7 degees.

Also the frontmount RS4 oil cooler has been show to lower oil temps.

My fmic lowers AIT's to retain air density and thus power too.

Get 91 octane software because the car will rattle in the summer (has already been 90F+ all week).
