Default MTM chip problems

Just got an MTM chip for my 2001 S4. I like it, except that when I floor it, the tachometer gets stuck at 3-4K RPM and the car lurches for several seconds. The rpms don't go up during this time, and I usually have to let off on the gas just to get the lurching to stop.
Any ideas?

Default The MTM has a flat spot around 3500 rpm's. Shouldn't be as bad as yours sounds

check your BPV's to see if they are sticking/ripped and your TBB, also MAF, but to some extent, it is something that the MTM just does.

Default What is your intake pressure when this is happening?

Could be surging (very common w/ MTM) and 3-4 K is the big dip after a big spike from 2-3 K.

Default 551H or 551M?

there have been some complaints in the past
about hesitation with the 551H software

some have put the blame on Hoppen/MTM's code
and others put the blame on some mechanical issues with some 551H box cars

No, I suspect that this is not normal--my car really bucks up and down the street without any subsequent power surge.
Guess I'm going to to getting some replacement parts!

VAG the thing, if it is as bad as you say it is, it should be throwing some kind of code.
