Default MTM Full Suspension vs. H&R Coilovers...........

I am in desperate need of suspension for my S4. What are the pros and cons of both setups? Anybody used both and prefer one? What is price differance? Performance differance? Please HELP!

Default I don't remember the feel of the MTM full too well, but I do remember the car I rode in being really

stable around corners at speed. Not sure how
it was on rough pavement though.

As for the H&R Street coilovers, really nice
on rough pavement, damn good on corners at speed,
and I do mean damn good. Also has the height
adjustablity, which is nice should you choose
to slam the car in the summer.
tough to choose between the Street coilovers and
the Ultras though,
but from what I hear, the Ultras are too rough
off the track.
By the way, I do have a set of Street coilovers
in NY for sale, slightly used. shoot me an email
if interested.

Default Both offer superior performance over stock -------->

Coilovers obviously give you the flexibility of height adjustment, the MTM Full is a fixed height system. H&R Streets can be had for $1,200 is, the MTM setup is $1,450 or so.

I have the MTM Full and am quite satisfied. Here is a "first impressions" write up I did shortly after delivery (had the MTM setup installed prior to taking delivery of my car): MTM Full review (in the Test Forum because my post in the S4 forum was lost along with hundreds of others).

If I were to do it again today, I'd probably go with coilovers for ONE reason ... adjustment. I really wish I could dial up another ¼"-½" in the rear for carrying loads. With the MTM setup, the factory front-to-rear rake is maintained ... not a bad thing for handling, but it makes for tires-in-the-fenders travel when the cargo area is loaded or if adults are riding in the back seat.

Default I'm in the same predicament...........

And I only got a few responses last time I posted. I'm starting to lean towards the H&R.

Default buy the ones I've got for sale.. unless you track your car a lot,

in which case I'd recommend the Ultras instead
of the H&R Streets..

Default Rob mentions an important point about adjustment if you are eventually

thinking of larger aftermarket rims.

if you are, make sure the MTM can handle the increased rim width since it is a fixed system.

have fun!
